The first game only released for PC, while the second was available for PC and later the Xbox 360. Both games are long affairs, replete with choices and consequences. You play a witcher, a monster hunter by the name of Geralt who sets off to find his long lost love Yennefer and his surrogate daughter Ciri.

I spend most of time playing Witcher 3 with no problem, but, suddenly, while missions objectives are updating or a cinematic moment is about to change (as I noticed), my PC just shuts down and after two seconds it powers up again.Ĭlue: Kernel Power 41 This sounds like your video card drivers are out of date.Update your drivers for the card you have.if that doesnt work then update your Motherbourd drivers. The Witcher 3 is what happens when the gritty, dark world of A Game of Thrones meets the open world sensibilities of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and the abundance of choice of BioWare's Dragon Age role-playing games. If cleaning your computer doesn't solve the issue, you will need to troubleshoot your pc in order to find out whats the issue, you could start by replacing the power supply (the most likely culprit of power failures on a computer). However here's something you can do on your own that COULD solve the issue.Ĭlean your computer, dust build up on the computer could be causing shorts, or causing individual components in your computer to overheat and this could cause a system wide shutdown, so clean your computer (its very easy and simple to do, get an air duster online, check on google for some tips on what to do and what not to do). If the computer itself is not under warranty, individual parts may still be under warranty (a good Power supply unit for example will usually have a 3~5 year warranty), so check the warranty of your computer and its parts if you still have it. Given your post about being afraid of damaging components, i will assume that you bought this pc pre-built, if that is the case, and the computer is still under its warranty, i'd recommend returning it to the store you bought it from.

You could try and see if windows is detecting some kind of issue prior to the shutdown (though i doubt it) you could see that with windows event viewer (word of warning about the event viewer, it will show every error or warning that your OS has had over its lifespan, most of which is meaningless, but it can ocasionally give some good information about why your computer is having problems), however if its a power related issue it will likely not show anything besides a warning that the system has recovered from a unexpected shutdown. Random shutdowns like the one you are describing is usually a sign of a hardware failure, since you are saying that its shutting down during gameplay its obviosuly an issue related to system load, my guess based on the limited information that you provided is that its an issue with your power supply. Sorry for my bad english, and let me know if any of you passed through the same situation. Despite I live in a tropical country where the air is f**** hot, but I suspect it's not Hardware problem, I hope so.

I am afraid of not founding a popular solution, afraid of damaging any component caused by this. Now I have this powering shut down while playing The Witcher 3 and one time playing Middle Earth: Shadows of War, as I remember. On the past I played Battlefield 1 for hours and hours without a problem. I used this config a long time ago and this problem is new to me. I searched on google, other steam topics, but I didn't found a clear evidence of what it can be.
